We schedule a monthly 90-minute meeting where our members gather and discuss MarTech topics - attendance is variable but when we have a "guest speaker" these meetings are typically quite well attended (50% more than usual).
The opportunity here for you is to demonstrate your subject matter expertise on a designated topic or working through a business case that has been prioritized by several of our members. Typically these cases are problems they are trying to solve internally and they're looking for help. They are typically in the research phase, have a named project and proposed budget going into the next annual planning cycle. This is where you, as a vendor, want to insert yourself into the consideration set as they are getting ready for enterprise prioritization in the next planning cycle.
The meeting format is typically:
15 minutes of introductions
45 minutes of content delivered by our expert (discussion format ... not a 1-way presentation)
15 minutes of discussion & follow up requests
Then, the presenter is removed from the meeting, and the discussion continues without the SME and we receive feedback which we pass onto the presenter.
Several times per year, we hold 2-day meetings in different cities around the US. The meetings have a theme and our agenda is programmed around that theme. We typically set the last 90 minute afternoon session on the first day aside as our "Sponsor" session. This session is similar in format to our online meeting, but it's live and in the room with Executive decision makers. Then there's a nice dinner somewhere close (often in a private room) where conversations can continue.
As a "meeting sponsor" you too are invited to the whole 2-day event. The intention is to meet and interact with the MarTech Executives assembled and start conversations that turn into long term relationships.
It is not designed for "a sales pitch" (sorry). Nothing wrong with sales at the right phase of the process.
This is an opportunity for members to start to research, knowledge transfer, and information gathering. We're wanting to understand deeply how you can solve our problem.
What we're looking for is for your expertise. Send a product owner who can dive into the technical details. Send someone from your organization that has done 100 implementations. Send someone who can speak to (under safe harbor) where your product strategy and the industry is going.
We're wanting a deep discussion and not a sales pitch.
